Power

the problem with being too nice and friendly with your staffs;

they end up telling you what to do instead of the other way around. =___='

hehe.

i never feel like i'm a superior to anyone in the office, i really don't. come one face it, i'm still new, i have a very little experience in a working world, everyday is a learning day for me so i treat everyone the same.

the good thing and bad thing about it are;

staffs feel like they can tell me anything anytime without me being offended which is not entirely true. at times i get offended too tau. especially when you're in different department and you asked (ordered, more likely!) me to do something that is out of my scope (which i don't mind doing if i have lots of free time) too bad, i'm meeting a deadline too.

let me get you a brief idea of this;

every month, it's my duty to check, key in, print and sign debit notes before i send it to my manager for approval and then account dept for payment and charge to supplier. checking and keying in take quite few days to be completed which is absolutely fine by me. your only job (account clerk) is to make payment and maybe some sorting out of debit notes before the payment don't know don't care bla bla bla. one day this woman came to me asking me to sort all the debit notes because according to her she doesn't have enough time her work is piling up sorting takes a whole day bla bla bla. oh really? like, really really really? are you fucking kidding me? IT'S YOUR JOB, DO IT. DON'T PUSH IT UNDER MY NOSE.

this is the problem. you're much of a complainer. you complain all the time. if you have time to complain you sure as hell have time to do sorting! if i have to do everything on my own might as well ask Noni to hire me as exec and clerk! know where you stand. there, i said it. just because we did go lunch together a few times, doesn't mean you can order me around as you wish. i might seem nice hell I AM NICE but not to the extent of letting people step on me. i'm not a pushover. so what i do is, stop going lunch with this woman. not just that, i let Mubarak (my senior exec) know about this and i even see accounts exec (this woman's superior) and clarify things with her. done.

anddd, i am back at doing my job peacefully and yes, at my own pace. :)

okay another entirely different story.

in my office, i am close with these 2 Myanmar women Cheryn and Christy, because they are nice and i love being with people who don't gossip - a lot. well, who doesn't love gossip kan tapi kalau sampai semua benda nak gosip pon bernanah jugak telinga nak dengar. hihihi. office politics - i would loveeeee to avoid at all costs. thank god i was put under admin where i am the only girl in the department. (and Nona, my new manager oh well) guys usually don't talk rubbish and unnecessary things kan. so phew! senang kerja.

these 2 girls - perhaps because they're close to me and there is no much gap between us, we can always share things and stuffs. so basically, they are very transparent with me. if there is something they feel like telling, they will simply tell. takde simpan-simpan punya. nak dijadikan cerita, one day this Christy planned on applying leave. so she went straight to me asking me to sign/approve her leave. me being me, of course i don't simply sign! kan dah cakap, kita pekerja cabuk aje tak berani nak memandai-mandai. :-/ so i asked her to go to our manager, Nona. i explained to her how i feel this thing is gonna work. i don't want to go behind my boss' back. now that we have a manager it's better for her to ask Nona directly if she wants to take a leave. she seemed unsettled and dissatisfied. she did some thinking and suddenly said, if abang Mubarak is here, he will simply sign this form for me. okay tak boleh jadi ni so i replied "how about you wait for him to come and ask him to sign the form for you instead?" she laughed. haaa tau tak nak tau tak nak. padahal Mubarak baik kot.

i continued doing my work, so did she. after a while, she asked again. and just like before, i told her to consult Nona first. i think she got a little upset and snapped;

"YOU SHOULD USE YOUR POWER!"

hahahaha.

uh huh. i get what you mean.

so.. instead of signing her leave form, i asked her to key in the debit notes for me.

you want me to use my power kan? (if i ever had any hahahaha) now i am using my power and making people do things for me.
