Dine In
i don't know about other girls but when it comes to choosing a guy to be with, i'm a bit selective.
'that' guy does not necessarily mean a husband (of course when you choose someone to spend the rest of your life with you have to be selective and choosy and picky *insert more synonyms here*). what i mean here is; a boyfriend or anyone you are interested in.
so, how do you set ground rules to measure how compatible you and your "potential partner" are? or how do you look at guys and decide 'yup he's the one'? because sincerely speaking, we women are more complicated than you already know. i can never understand women even though i am one. bahaha. that is why there is a saying that goes - women are meant to be loved, not understood. ever heard of that, ladies and gentlemen? hehe.
some people's ground rules will be something like; the way the guy walks, his hair, the way he speaks or some might be looking at something more physical like whether he's tall or short, handsome or cute, what car is he driving. there's nothing, really, fits all women. it all depends on the girl's preference.
for me (i know you didn't ask, just pretend you did please haha) the easiest way to find whether i can click with that 'potential guy' or not is by observing the way he treats the waiter/waitress in restaurants. by restaurants, please cross off mcdonalds, kfc and buffet style restaurants. that doesn't count. hehe.
i love observing how the guy eats and how he orders his food. does he try too hard cracking jokes while ordering? or does he being a total jackass like he owns the restaurant? or does he being total sweet to the extent of making me uncomfortable sitting there with him? or does he try to look cool by acting like a total flirt? or does he just being himself ordering food like a normal person would do? i judge him there and then.
1) if funny is not your strong character, AVOID cracking jokes with the waiter. you don't want to end up embarassing yourself seeing me grin awkwardly at your lame jokes.
2) don't be a total jackass. nobody likes rude people. waiters are human just like us. you don't have to shout those vulgar words because that mamak hasn't attended to your order just yet. imagine the girl you are trying to impress sitting there, listening to every harsh word you said. do you think she will be like "auw this guy is so manly this is the guy i want to marry! oh his voice can be heard 500m across the hall, i like him!"? do you really think so? because bad guys and total jackass are two different things. (haha THINGS!) girls might like bad guys but they can never tolerate a jackass.
3) flirting / being sweet (you say!) with the waitress is a big no no for me. i mean, helloooo i'm sitting right in front of you hello hellooo? come show your sweetness to me. make me your center of attention! bahaha. i know some guys think it's cool to try diverting our attention by acting sweet and flirty so that we won't know that they are actually nervous. oh come on, it's better to look nervous than flirty okay.
4) just be yourself. and by being yourself, you DO NOT want to eat exactly like when you are eating alone in your room licking spoon (or fingers omg) and all. do have some manners. make sure you don't chew your beef steak like you chew your chewing gum, it's irritating to be eating on the same table as guys who have poor table manners, you know.
and just by observing how the guy eats, you can tell many things about him. :)
